April Newsletter

Man, who doesn't love sabertooth cats. Also Kate!

Hey guys, so it’s the end of April and this is my brief April newsletter for you letting you know what’s been going on in my life.

I just finished listening to the podcast by Saga describe about where he interviews Kate spell about her work and if you haven’t yet listen to her.

She has a lot of insights about what she does and why she does it I think I should usually lean into. I’ve created a series of videos about book marketing and habit formation on my YouTube channel as well, which I’m going to link here and the goal of that was to really have me not have to explain the thing I keep explaining to these newer authors in immersive Inc.

Like there are habits you can form or there are things you can do to get more writing out and I’ll just say this up front. I don’t have a product to sell or a course. I’m just telling you as a coach. This is how we get you to do the thing if I was your manager or if I was coaching you.

And again, I’m not doing any coaching except for the free stuff, so I’m not charging for any of this. And really I think what I’m going to do is try to do a scientific study about how different tendencies of authors look at different things… but that seems like a lot.

I don’t know that I can prove it but I feel like questionnaire authors get stuck in the World building a lot and that is their problem. I do not know this but I might do a study for that

I have a similar thought… I don’t know this but I feel like obliger authors just need that accountability and that is the main driving thing and once I have that, then they can write as much as they want. Again, I do not know this. I know how I would coach somebody who was an obliger who wanted to write, and that’s why I have accountability groups, but I do not have a fully fleshed out thing. I just haven’t hypothesis and what I think I’m going to do is do a bit of a study control study on this to see if I can get better information.

So stay tuned. I’ve also finished reading several good books. My favorite so far. April is the Shadow card guardian book by Kacey Ezell.

You can get it here:

It is amazing! I love it! It’s perfect, and it does a very similar assistant Bodega cat which I just finished. I’m going to be going through my edited Bodega cat version too. It’s looking like the first five was going to be about 36 chapters, which means it’ll post for about a month before the second one comes in. And so I’ll probably writing Bodega cat for the next 3 months until late August.

According to my little Excel spreadsheet, it’ll probably be August 21st is the last day I write it though. I’m going to be going back and heavily editing the first one to make it super clean and super good out for pros so that I get my process through. And when I’m done writing it. Let’s say in August if I finish in August I’m going to immediately going to write my romance series. I only have a thousand words into and I don’t have the idea. I’ve also done a video on that..

Coaching, but it looks like that’s what it’s going towards. Although it is off the two-centered, I have special interest in coach for more contest, so you’ll have my weekly blogs…. and you’re going to have my shorts. You’re going to have my craft stuff. You’re going to have my marketing stuff and then you’re also going to have maybe some processed things as I sort those out.

Good news for my projects. Nascent soul child is done with primary drafting! (All three books?!)

It is now going to be with a Dev editor this week, which is great for all two volumes and has them all edited as one goes. So the overall sense of it is that it’s done as a piece

Book one of the Caravan blades is done; or it will be this week with editing.

I just got back to that.

I’m hoping that I can go through the dev notes before I start book two’s edits before I started... That this seems to be the holdup besides the artwork.

Artwork takes a while.

Editing is the skill that I’m learning. Although I’m not going to be a dev editor, I’m just going to learn how to edit my stuff. Or at least do it more.

That is on the horizon for me.

If you want more Weaver, here is my most recent VLOG

It’s an exciting time in the Weaver verse and let me put some shout outs here for you to enjoy.

I’m about to read this:

And after that and a few others I’m going to be back to reading for funsies again.

See ya besties!
